Every year on July 20, people all over the world celebrate International Chess Day. This tradition started more than 50 years ago because of an idea from the United Nations group called UNESCO. It’s a day when chess fans unite to enjoy their favourite game.
Mention that it's celebrated on July 20th to commemorate the founding of the International Chess Federation (FIDE) in 1924.
Highlight the cognitive, social, and emotional benefits of playing chess, such as improved problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and strategic planning.
Clearly state the objective of the event, such as promoting chess among students, fostering healthy competition, and developing strategic thinking.
Our school celebrated International Chess Day by organizing a chess competition for students. The event aimed to promote strategic thinking, problem-solving, and healthy competition among participants.
The International Chess Day competition was a huge success, promoting chess as a tool for cognitive development and social interaction. Congratulations to all participants and winners!
